Plot. Surveys Ltd had the honour of being tasked with conducting a comprehensive PAS 128 utility survey at the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials. Utilizing advanced ground penetrating radar, the thorough survey revealed old land drains along with both redundant and live utility services from previous events, aiding in effective utility site engineering.

Multiple surveys nationwide for various clients, including Euro Garages, have utilized a combined approach of topographical studies and PAS 128 utility surveys. This method incorporates ground penetrating radar to provide designers with a clear understanding of the sites, facilitating the construction of new EV charging bays. A comprehensive strategy in utility site engineering enables designers, architects, and groundworkers to grasp the dimensions of the sites and the location of buried services.

A large PAS 128 utility survey was conducted across a section of the Kingston University campus, utilizing ground penetrating radar technology. The output included both a 2D plan model and a 3D model, which were used to generate a Revit model. This valuable information is being leveraged to assist with the design and implementation of district heating on campus, making it a fantastic project to be a part of within the realm of utility site engineering.

Plot. Surveys Ltd were asked to provide utility site engineering services for a prestigious section of the HS2 project. This was an exciting project to have the honour of being a part of. The services provided included as-built documenting of buried services, live on-site markups for excavation crews, and the setting out of utilities using ground penetrating radar techniques. Day-to-day skills that were utilized included topographical surveying, PAS 128 utility surveys, utility surveying, setting out, photogrammetry, and service markups, as well as involvement with the permit to dig system.
